Fabian Hesse nutzt Open Hardware 3D-Drucker, -scanner und 3D-Modellierungen für seine künstlerische Arbeit. Er experimentiert mit Technologien, die mit ihrer rasanten Entwicklung unsere Gesellschaft grundsätzlich verändern. Hesse führt die Möglichkeiten materieller und immaterieller Transformationen vor, indem er gescannte Daten realer und irrealer Dinge – von Menschen, Landschaften, Smartphone Daten, Programmen von Überwachungssystemen, etc verarbeitet. Seine Werke bewegen sich an Schnittstellen zwischen Mensch und maschinellen Systemen, machen Wechselwirkung erfahrbar und entwickeln aus den Veränderungsprozessen neue Sehweisen und künstlerische Strategien.
